At Home With Cornish 20

Let's remind ourselves of the days of the week.

Don't forget to sing them for practice!

Ma seyth dedh en seythen. There are seven days in a week.

De Sül Sunday

De Lün Monday

De Meurth Tuesday

De Merher Wednesday

De Yow Thursday

De Gwener Friday

De Sadorn Saturday

There are some special days that only come once a year.

We may celebrate them with special food.

Notice that "We like" is "Da ew genen".

Previously, you learnt "I like" is "Da ew genam".

A very special day for Cornwall is St Piran's Day on March 5th.

Gool Peran ew pempes mis Meurth.

When it comes, you can say this to a friend:

Gool Peran lowen dhis.

Happy St Piran's Day to you.

Usually there is a play on the dunes and parades in the streets. There is music and dancing. People wear the Cornish tartan.

We celebrate all the things that are special to Cornwall.

And I am sure that you can think of lots more things that make Cornwall special.
